The Open Corral Campground in Ogallala, Nebraska was started by Ed and Wilma Hopken over 30 years ago. Today, that tradition is carried on by the current owners Zane Holscher and Dan and Christine Krajewski. Zane, grandson of Ed and Wilma, grew up on a farm near the campground and spent many summer days as a kid helping pick up trash around the campground, pulling weeds, or just playing with all his cousins and the kids that traveled through in RVs. Dan was also raised on a farm just a few miles from the campground.
Dan grew up in Ogallala, attending Ogallala High School before moving to Colorado. While in Colorado Dan met his bride, Christine. Zane joined the military upon graduation from Ogallala High School in 1997 and is currently serving as a pilot in the US Air Force. He currently resides in Destin, FL.
Dan, Christine and their son, Hunter, now live at the campground and oversee day to day operations. Dan has explored most of western Nebraska can answer any questions you have about the area. Christine is an Oklahoma native, but has spent the past many years in Colorado. She is a great resource no matter which direction you are headed. Both Dan and Christine will strive to give you the best possible service and show you what western hospitality is all about!
